Angels features eleven new songs, all written by Redman himself, many of which are once again surely destined to become worship standards for churches and even other artists. Because he pours so much of himself and his own journey through Christian discipleship into his music, his songs are both deeply personal and completely accessible by anyone who wants to dig for a deeper relationship with God. He never settles for lukewarm worship -- he wants nothing less than total, uncompromising devotion. And that's probably why listeners are so drawn to his songs.
The album features a few intriguing twists on Redman's usual formula. Dwayne Larring and Jason Halbert handled the production this time, giving the album a moody, Brit/rock feel. Redman's wife Beth even turns up for a duet, as does fellow British worship leader Chris Tomlin.
