Abandoning the souped-up sound of his first album, Shaun Groves has returned with an album that sounds very much like a live concert. Every vocal and instrument was recorded all together, at one time, in live studio recording sessions. A more organic, natural sound he couldn't have asked for.
The primary theme of Twilight is the eternal struggle of man's soul between the natures of good and evil. Groves puts this idea into the kind of bite-size nuggets of spiritual truth that he excells at; it first appears on the title track, but then weaves its way through nearly every song on the album. It is possible that some listeners may be disappointed that the heavier rock & roll side of his nature has been scaled back a bit, but no one will be able to deny that Shaun Groves is a gifted musician and communicator. He knows his way around a song and it shows.
