Eden's Bridge is a little-known Celtic quintet that is best known for recording a celebrated Celtic Worship series, which took popular worship songs & hymns and placed modern Celtic spins on them. The series proved that not only is this group comprised of several highly talented musicians and vocalists, but those artists have a style and flare all their own. Not that endless comparisons to Iona and other Celtic-based groups would be such a bad thing, but Eden's Bridge deserves attention all its own.
Isle of Tides finally presents us with Eden's Bridge in its truest form: not performing cover songs, but songs all its own. Among the eighteen massive tracks found on Isle of Tides are quiet songs of worship, reflections on the beauty of nature, and jazzy folk moments of awakening and beauty, as well as three instrumental tracks. There's even the occasional gregorian chant.
Vocalist Sarah Lacy and her brother Richard are group's founding members, and both have been gifted with musical talents from a very young age. Their music is quite unlike anything else on store shelves these days, lush and melancholy, soulful and wise. This is the music of the heart's innermost places -- places of wonder and frailty and longing.
