The Lost Dogs have a rich legacy in underground Christian Music. Comprised of Terry Taylor, Derri Daugherty, and Mike Roe, the trio is one of the industry's most recognized but also most overlooked. Which of course, only makes their fans love them more.

Nazarene Crying Towel, the group's sixth album, is at once both the simplest and most profound recording the Dogs have recorded to-date. Melancholy and wistful, Towel finds the trio earnestly trying to find their way through this difficult world, with their eyes fixed on one thing: eternity. These songs are concerned with the fragility of the human will, the innate desire within all to worship the Creator, and the tangible need inside us all to leave this world behind for the perfect world that awaits those who believe in Christ.

The chosen sound to communicate these themes is traditional folk. Slow and hopeful, it sounds kind of like old school country mixed with the acoustic/vocal groups of the 60s and 70s. It's not going to appeal to everyone, to be sure. But those who give it a try will find a supremely uplifting, heart-filling experience.
