The best selling new rock band of 2002, and, along with Jeremy Camp, the driving force behind the renewed success of the Tooth and Nail empire (which includes the BEC Recordings label), has returned for their sophomore effort. Sea of Faces shows Kutless choosing take chances, and at least not rest on their laurels by attempting to clone the sound of their debut. Don't get us wrong, this is still a rock record. But the rock is on a completely different level than on Kutless, due to much more control and contained focus on both the guitars and the vocals. This is Kutless... growing up, perhaps? I suppose we won't know that for sure until album number three. What we do know now is that Sea of Faces should spawn a plethora of radio hits, which will ensure that fans still flock to purchase the album. On the whole, Sea of Faces is a fine rock record that should gain the band many new fans. Highly Recommended.
