Aaron Sprinkle is a virtual icon for those who follow the Christian alternative scene. A member of the acclaimed, groundbreaking alternative group, Poor Old Lu, Sprinkle has gone on to record solo projects as well as lend his considerable production talents to bands like Thousand Foot Krutch, Anberlin, Stavesacre, and others. He consistently is one of the most creative forces in modern rock music.
His new album, Lackluster, will be familiar to his long-time fans. It is essentially a collection of older material, plus one new song. His previous labels have gone away for various reasons so Lackluster serves as a chance to service his music to a new audience as well as keep it available for those who may not have purchased him yet but were looking for the chance. The older material has been re-mixed and some vocals have been re-recorded.
Most Christian music fans are not familiar with Aaron Sprinkles music, which is too bad. Consider this your chance to remedy that. Lackluster is anything but, and if you're a fan of modern rock/pop Sprinkle has the chops to impress you if you give him the chance. This should appeal to fans of everyone from PFR to The Beatles to Jason Mraz to David Wilcox. I'm pretty certain that radio will not give him the time of day so you're going to have to seek this one out on your own. But it's worth it.
