The Purest Place has been called a worship album by some, but that is not the case, in the traditional sense of the term. Rather, it is simply Christ-centered and vertical in its themes. Nathan handles the production duties and returns the duo to a more stripped down, acoustic foundation, similar to their debut album. Joining the project are Charlie Hall, on a cover of his "Captivate Us," Tim Hughes, on the title track, and Danielle Young (Caedmon's Call) on "Invade."
The lyrics are captivating in their depth and all dressed in appropriate musical packages, all held together by Christy's typically gorgeous vocals. The final result is one of the most enjoyable themed albums to come across my desk in quite some time, and the best Christ-themed album that I've heard since Cindy Morgan's The Loving Kind.
