If you talk to Chris Rice, you'll find out that this is the album that almost wasn't. Having always had a passion for and been involved with youth ministry, Chris felt that he would not be able to focus on the youth ministry that he is called to, while simultaneously performing the necessary duties requied of an artist to support a new album. Thankfully, his label Rocketown Records told him to just go ahead and make the album and let them worry about all the marketing and promotion, because this album is pure gold. With producer Monroe Jones (Third Day, Ginny Owens), Chris has produced his most diverse, colorful, and satisfying album yet. The lyrics are incredibly poignant and poetic, communicating life's truths in creative, yet meaningful ways. This he has always done, but where Smell the Color 9 really shines is in the music. It is adventurous, edgy, and truly dynamic, combining several styles and textures to weave a truly mesmerizing array of stories and songs. Don't miss it!
