Compilations come and compilations go, but the format really changed for good in 1995 when the WOW franchise entered the marketplace. Featuring the most successful contemporary Christian singles of the year, these 2 CD sets and companion DVD's became instant hits. In 1998, the franchise branched out and WOW Gospel was launched.
Fast forward to 2007 and you have the most successful gospel compilation series of all time. To date, the RIAA has certified six volumes platinum and two are gold.
