Rick's third album, Go Nova is his first on his new label True Tunes/Rhythm House Records. True to form, Rick performs all the instruments and vocals on the album, with the exception of several glorious guitar solos performed by the unbelievable talented Adrian Belew, who lent his talents on Rick's previous albums as well (you may recall that Adrian was the mastermind behind Jars of Clay's breakthrough single Flood on their first album). As you would expect, the music is great - a combination of folk rock and modern rock laced with witty and insightful lyrics that always end up pointing to Christ. Additionally, with the new label come new freedoms, including the chance to release a tune banned by his former (and now defunct) record label, KMG. The aforementioned tune, C M Superstar, is a satirical look at the Christian music industry through the eyes of an artist who "started out with good intentions..." well, you'll have to hear the song to find out the rest. Don't miss this one!
