Several years ago, Jennifer Knapp opened up a door in Christian music with her album Kansas. A new sound emerged - a raw, powerful female vocalist who could articulate wonderfully, and with great musical skill, her love for God and set it to compelling folk rock music. Even with her great success, there haven't been that many female artists to follow in her footsteps. Tracy Dawn was perhaps the first, although her music leans a bit more towards the rock side, and recently the talented 16 year-old Katy Hudson. Now you can add to that list Kelly Minter. Raw, powerful vocals, well-crafted songs, and an appealing mix of folk, medium rock, and pop music make Good Day a strong debut album from this new artist. Hopefully more artists will enter through this door, but until then we'll just have to enjoy the few we have. Check it out!
