It could be argued that the merits of any Audio Adrenaline album rest entirely on the strengths of the album's songwriting above all else. If that's the case, then all the adrenaline junkies out there have reason to celebrate, because Lift is here, and it's outstanding.
Audio Adrenaline seems to have settled into a steady groove with their music over the last few years, no longer trying experimental production or stepping outside the box, sonically. But on Lift , they have managed to create something that transcends their usual level of simple rock and roll. While Lift isn't what I'd call a praise & worship album, it is an album full of songs written vertically, with the intention of taking the listener into a place of worship. All four of the band's members contributed fully to the songwriting on this album, allowing the band to create a fuller, more well-rounded musical experience. Guitarist Tyler Burkum even contributes some lead vocals, sharing the spotlight with Mark Stuart. - Robin Parrish
