Lay it Down" is the sophomore recording by this truly gifted and anointed 26 year-old singer/songwriter, and it follows up her chart-smashing and award-winning debut "Kansas." What is so refreshing about Jennifer, is that instead of focusing on cultivating her image or status, she has instead focused on cultivating her music, and it shows! This album builds upon the rootsy bluesy folk rock style of her first album, and adds even more stylistic shifts while maintaining a strong coherence among the songs. Her lyrics are beautifully penned, poetic, stirring, and evidencing a whole-hearted commitment to God. Simply a must-have.
