The Best of Gary Chapman - After God's Own Heart marks the end of Gary Chapman's career association with Reunion Records (he's now moved to Crowne Music Group), which was where he first made his mark in the industry.
It includes mostly songs from his two most prominent albums -- 1994's The Light Inside and 1996's Shelter -- along with a few others. Sadly, there's no new material present, although there are a few nice extra touches, like the inclusion of "Mary, Did You Know" from his Christmas album and "Elijah," his entry in that multi-artist Rich Mullins tribute album from a few years back. But the album's majority of material is made up of classics like "Sweet Jesus," "Sweet Glow of Mercy," "Where Are the Broken Hearts," "Heal Me," and "Gospel Ship." - Robin Parrish
