A Place Where You Belong

To be sure, A Place Where You Belong is about the journey. The things that happen and the feelings you feel between when you venture out and when you set your course for home. Both literally, and as a metaphor for our human journey with the final destination of Heaven.

As such, every song touches on a different theme, every song featuring a distinctly different production style, but all of it being tied together by the notion of being homesick for one's true home. The concept works surprisingly well, as each song is allowed to have a life of its own within the greater context of the whole. The production is guaranteed to be quite different than anything you've heard before -- heavy on the percussion and acoustic elements, but with lots of new sounds and technologies thrown into the mix. It's a singular, experimental sound that seems as if it were invented specifically for this group and this album.

A Place Where You Belong is one of the most thrillingly creative projects I've ever experienced. And I use that word, "experienced," intentionally, because you don't just "hear" this album -- it envelops you. Never settling, always forging new ground, always awakening your senses to a new experience, it's absolutely entrancing. It's going to be an acquired taste for a lot of listeners (and some may never acquire it at all), but for those with an open mind, A Place Where You Belong will take you on a bold musical journey to a place that you have never been to before.
