Pillar's sophomore effort is certainly no slump. After having won the Dove Award for "Best Hard Album" last year, these guys didn't just sit back - they went back into the studio and recorded an even harder-hitting album than the first. Fireproof takes these guys to a level shared by only a handful of Christian acts like P.O.D., PAX217, and possibly Project 86, where conviction and excellence collide and the music hits you squarely on the outside, quickly sinking into your soul. Definitely an album to buy if you like Pillar, or any of the bands mentioned 'above' (pun intended).
