It never ceases to amaze me that the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, led by its virtuoso director/songwriter/producer Carol Cymbala (who has never had any formal musical training, by the way), doesn't get more recognition than it does. They consistently put out top-notch, high-quality music that should appeal to almost anyone. Even if you don't usually choose to listen to this style of music, nearly everyone does sooner or later -- at church. But Brooklyn Tab sounds like the way you wish your own choir always sounded. Every note is spot-on perfect, every harmony is perfectly in sync, and Cymbala's somewhat Broadway-ish ear for writing and arranging is simply stunning. - Robin Parrish
