Following up on the unprecedented success of the first Enter the Worship Circle project, which still reigns as the best-selling Christian indie album of all time (over 70,000 copies have been sold to-date, all without label or marketing support), the Blue Renaissance Creative Group has joined together again with faces new and old, to craft Enter the Worship Circle: Second Circle, the second album in this burgeoning "indie series that could." The second album once again features 100 Portraits, this time joined by Will Hunt (the same guy behind Rocketown's apt.core), Ben Kennedy and Jared Hornsby of indie group Calling Cedar, and indie artists Sarah Stewart and Mary Luker.
Second Circle, which was heavily influenced by Indian culture, is a colorful blending of pure, worshipful energy and raw, stripped-down, acoustic performances. 100 Portrait's Ben Pasley integrated ambient sounds into the music that he recorded during a recent trip to India. He also picked up several acoustic instruments while there, and each of them have found their way onto Second Circle, giving the album a wonderful texture that sounds quite unlike anything recorded on other worship albums. - Robin Parrish
