P.O.D. made the official announcement late yesterday that Marcos (real name: Marcos Curiel) has parted ways with the group. In the words of band frontman Sonny Sandoval, "Marcos has chosen to pursue his own vision apart from P.O.D. Never have we imagined P.O.D. without him, but we now know this vision is bigger than the four of us."
Sandoval also announced that musician/songwriter Jason Truby has been hired as Marcos' replacement. The members of P.O.D. are currently in the studio working on the lead single for The Matrix Reloaded, which they plan to follow with writing and recording their next full-length album.
