Riley Armstrong recently lost all of his musical instruments and his tour clothes when his van and trailer were stolen in Vancouver, Canada. The van was later found, damaged, but the trailer and all of Armstrong's belongings have not been recovered.
After purchasing his new van in January of this year, Armstrong says that "only 12 hours after our expensive safety inspection, [the van] went off the road in Montana, and Montana is where it stayed for six weeks" for repairs. Armstrong and his band finally got the van back in March, but just two weeks later, disaster struck again. On March 31, the van and the trailer attached to it, along with everything inside, were stolen.
The next night, the van was found 60 miles away, and was damaged in a wreckless tumble down a hill after the thieves had driven it too fast. Armstrong has since decided to fix the van on the advice of mechanics who say that the van's frame is still intact. But he is now traveling alone (no band), for now.
Armstrong is in good spirits about all that's happened; he's even jokingly named the van "Calamity." He says, "I have lost a lot, but I feel like I have gained some perspective through it all. Stuff is stuff, it's just things. Calamity the van was a huge blessing, but Calamity couldn't stay. I know God has a plan and I am at peace knowing that."
