Creation 2003, scheduled for June 25 to 28 in Shirleysburg, Pennsylvania, is being relocated and will now be held at the Hershey Stadium, The Giant Center, and also the Star Pavilion, in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The Creation Festival is the nation's largest Christian music, teaching and camping festival with people attending from across the world. This year also marks its 25th Anniversary.
"The ground is so wet in Huntingdon County that most of the farmers have not even planted their corn yet for fear of getting their tractors stuck," says Tim Landis, the Executive Producer for Creation 2003. "Although we are disappointed and will miss the scenic beauty of the Agape Farm, we are very excited about how the plans are shaping up for the move to Hershey Park."
This is not the first time Creation has been moved to Hershey Park. In 1996 the entire festival was moved with only five days notice. The experience gained from that event along with the ability to have more time to prepare should make for a very smooth transition.
The main concerts will be held in the Hersheypark Stadium plus the Star Pavilion, which is located to the rear of the stage. This will create a concert in-the-round affect and should be quite spectacular. Two huge video screens mounted on tractor-trailers will flank either side of the stage. Underneath the grandstands will be an extensive exhibit area featuring over 170 vendors and ministry organizations.
Since 1996 there has been over 100 million dollars invested in the Hershey Park complex. The brand new Giant Center, which seats over 12,000 people in air-conditioned comfort, will host the Fringe Stage. Each day the Fringe program will start at 9:AM and will be expanded to include the late night events and increased seminars. In the evening, the main stage program will be simulcast over the Giant Center's large video screens. This is a good option to those who want to get out of the weather. The Amusement park is also offering a very special day price of $15.95 for everyone sporting a Creation Festival wristband. This
represents more than 50% off the standard admission price.
People pre-registered for Creation 2003 need to do nothing more than show up at the entrance to Hershey Park. Those planning to take advantage of the free camping option will then be directed to their campsites. People who are commuting each day will be able to park free of charge in the Hershey Park lots if they are pre-registered. If not pre-registered, commuters will have to pay $6 per car parking for the first day with each additional day being free. Please note though that campers will not be
eligible to park free of charge in the parking lots.
Although the deadline for discounted advance tickets was June 2, Creation has decided to extend that deadline to those who will be commuting but not camping at the festival. Included in these "Commuter Only" tickets will be free parking that normally costs $6. To order these advance tickets, visit www.itickets.com/agape/. Those planning on camping will be able to purchase
their tickets upon arrival.
The advance price of adult tickets is: $28 Evening, $33 Day & Evening, $83 Entire Event. Day and evening tickets cost $2 more at the gate and $12 more for the entire event. For more information, visit www.creationfest.com or listen to your favorite Christian radio station.
