Dance/pop singer-songwriter Daniel Bedingfield was hospitalized last week after a serious car crash, which reportedly resulted in his being cut from the Jeep Cherokee he was driving. A passenger in the vehicle is said to have been unharmed.
According to a statement released to BBC News by Bedingfield's publicist, "He did have to be cut out of the car so it was obviously in a bit of a mangled state when he was taken out. I'm sure that they're just making absolutely certain that he's fine."
Reports have him staying at a hospital in his native New Zealand for at least the next week or so.
Bedingfield is an outspoken Christian in the mainstream, and scored top 10 hits earlier this year on both American and international pop radio charts with "Gotta Get Thru This" and, his biggest hit, "If You're Not The One," each of which also received limited airplay at Christian radio outlets.
Our prayers are with Daniel for a very speedy recovery.
