Several peformers for this year's Grammy Awards (airing live from Los Angeles on February 8) have been announced over the past few days, including nominees Robert Randolph and the Family Band, who will reportedly perform with leading contenders Outkast, during a tribute to funk music.
Other performers set to join the tribute are George Clinton and Parliament-Funkadelic, as well as Earth, Wind, and Fire.
Robert Randolph and the Family Band has been lauded with praise from countless mainstream and Christian music publications and has been featured on numerous TV programs and channels, including VH1 and MTV.
Rolling Stone magazine recently named Robert Randolph one of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time. An incredible feat, considering Randolph plays the steel guitar and is relatively new to the mainstream music industry.
The band is nominated for 2 Grammy awards: Best Rock Gospel Album and Best Rock Instrumental Performance for the crowd-pleasing "Squeeze."
Multiple nominees Justin Timberlake, The White Stripes, and Christina Aguilera have also been announced as performers during this year's ceremony.
