The nominees for the 2004 Dove Awards were announced today. The contrasts were striking in quite a few categories, with new faces going up against familiar names. In Male Vocalist new artist nominee Jeremy Camp is facing off against names such as Steven Curtis Chapman and Bart Millard (of Mercy Me, who were nominated for Group and Artist of the Year). Christian artists who had success in the mainstream were also honored, as Stacie Orrico, Switchfoot, Mercy Me, and Randy Travis all scored major nominations.
