On Monday, May 3, 2004, President George W. Bush will be joined
on the Yes, American Can bus tour by multi-platinum country music star Travis
Tritt at a rally in Sterling Heights, Michigan and on Tuesday, May 4th, 2004,
Grammy award winning recording artist Steven Curtis Chapman in Cincinnati,
Ohio.
“President Bush’s commitment to protecting America from those
who would do us harm is extremely strong. Recent economic numbers show me that
his economic policies are working. Above all, when George W. Bush speaks, I
believe that he means what he says and will not waiver. I can't say that about
the other candidate in this election,” said Tritt.
On Tuesday, May 4, Grammy winning recording artist Steven Curtis
Chapman will introduce the President and perform at a rally in Cincinnati,
OH.
“I respect President Bush and the way he has led our country
through these difficult times. I will never forget his strength in the
days immediately following 9/11. I appreciate his commitment to his faith
and the depth of his conviction and he has my support,” said Chapman.
During the Yes, America Can bus tour, President Bush will
participate in events focused on the strength, optimism and resolve of the
American people in meeting the tests of our time – strengthening the economy,
making our communities better and keeping America safe.
President Bush will discuss his plan for growing the economy and
ensuring that every American who wants a job can find one. He will meet
with small business owners, community college officials, and participants in job
training programs. The President will also hear from families throughout
Michigan and Ohio who are benefiting from the historic tax relief passed by
President Bush.
The President will highlight the values that keep America’s
communities and families strong. In each city, President Bush will herald
local leaders who are making a difference by helping friends and neighbors in
need. These events will focus on faith-based organizations, mentoring
programs and other community based programs.
President Bush will discuss the War on Terror and the importance
of success in Iraq. He will honor the troops in Afghanistan and Iraq who
are true heroes in the War on Terror and who, along with their families, have
made great sacrifices to keep America safe.

America safer, stronger and better with the people of Michigan and
Ohio.
