BEC Recordings signs Jeremy Camp

BEC Recordings, home to such successful bands as The Supertones, Plankeye, and Cadet, is adding male singer/songwriter Jeremy Camp to its current roster of cutting edge acts. Stay, his debut album, releases on September 24.

BEC's commitment to Camp shows in their plans to release two albums over the next several months. The first, Stay, is a unique blend of rock and progressive pop, and the second will be a praise and worship project due out sometime next year.

"I have never been this excited about a new artist since the OC Supertones," says Brandon Ebel, president of BEC Recordings. "I have known Jeremy and his family for over eleven years and am truly amazed by his ministry. This album is full of incredible, personal songs based on Jeremy's experiences in faith and trust in the Lord through any circumstance. I know that God is using and will continue to use Jeremy to bring people to him through his music and testimony."

Songs of his such as "Walk By Faith," title track "Stay", and "I Still Believe" are filled with such a resplendent love for Christ and devotion to His will that few can resist getting swept up in Camp's passion. His musical influences include everything from Matchbox 20 to Creed to the Goo Goo Dolls, and yet Camp makes all of his songs his own, stamped with his own irrepressibly joyful and meaningful style.

Matthew Turner, editor of CCM Magazine comments, "Jeremy Camp has one of the purest hearts I know. His story is one of grace, passion, and surrender. I have worked in the music industry for a long time and I have never met a person with a more visible, tangible faith. His music is secondary to his commitment to Christ and that is evident from the first time you meet him. You truly sense that Jesus is saying something through this young man and I for one would like his voice to be heard."

Camp moved from his Lafayette, Indiana home in 1996 in order to attend Bible college in Murrieta, California. He soon began leading worship and playing shows all over in the Southern California area. Just six months later, Camp was leading congregations around the world in uplifting worship. Read the rest of Camp's touching biography here.

"I just want to encourage those who are going through major struggles in their lives to realize that God's faithfulness endures even during the darkest times," Camp says, drawing power in his work from the pain in his own life. "No matter what you're going through, He will come through."

Jeremy Camp's sound will appeal to anyone with a taste for excellent new music made by someone who desires to encourage others in the love of God above everything else.
