In an interview in the Illinois Entertainer, former Seven Day Jesus frontman Brian McSweeney talks about his experiences in the Christian Music industry. "To see the machine behind faith was really disappointing," says McSweeney. "We can put God's name on anything and sell it and it's really disgusting."
McSweeney also discusses his new band, Matthew, and its brand-new album, Everybody Down, which he calls an album he would never have had the freedom to make within the Christian Music industry. He notes, "Lyrically, the record is really about my disappointment with Christianity as a market."
