Platinum-selling band P.O.D. topped the nominations for the MTV Video Music Awards, as announced last week. The band tied for the most nominations with Missy Elliot and Eminem. The VMAs, which will be hosted by Jimmy Fallon, air on MTV August 29.
"God has blessed us with so much," said the band. "When this announcement was made we had no idea that P.O.D. would even be nominated for ONE award, much less six." P.O.D. went on to encourage their fans to go to MTV.com and vote for P.O.D. in all of the categories that they are elligible for: "This is our time to send a massive Warrior message to this world. The question is this: Do we want Eminem to walk away with this award or P.O.D.?"
