The NEW CMCentral.com

You knew it was coming, now it's finally here! Welcome to the all-new CMCentral.com, which has far more than just aesthetic enhancements -- this new website allows us to bring you News and information in new and exciting ways.

Expanded News: News will now be updated 24/7 instead of once a day. Whenever news happens, it will be posted here. (Also, look for helpful icons to distinguish different types of News.) Want to help us keep up-to-date on Christian Music News? Be a CMCentral Scooper! Interested scoopers should send any News they find of interest to Christian Music fans to Robin; all News scoops will be credited to the person who found them, and the website or news agency they originated from.

Indie Reviews: Long-awaited and oft-promised, the Indie Reviews section is finally here! At least one new independent album will be reviewed (by Robin) per week. We are also now offering unique new opportunities for artists (both independent and signed) to get the word out about what they do, through our new Featured Artist Pages. Click here to see what these special pages look like, and contact Sean to find out how to get one of your own.

Book Reviews: Our first extension into other forms of Christian Media, the Book Reviews section is one we're particularly excited about. We're working with all the biggest Christian publishers to bring you new reviews of the latest books about once every week or so. Our Book Reviews will focus primarily on general interest books like Christian Living, Prayer, Discipleship, and Contemporary Fiction.

Expanded Coverage of Mainstream Artists: Perhaps our most exciting new feature is the addition of several mainstream Christian artists to our regular coverage. Our staff has come to strongly believe that Christians entering the mainstream entertainment arena is where our culture will truly be impacted, so you can now look forward to ongoing coverage of various artists in mainstream music who claim to be Christians. After careful consideration, we have selected the following artists for coverage, as we believe they represent the best that this Christian/mainstream mixture has to offer:

  • 12 Stones
  • Blindside
  • Michelle Branch
  • Chevelle
  • Krystal Harris
  • Lauryn Hill
  • Lifehouse
  • Mandy Moore
  • P.O.D.
  • U2
Add to that list the growing number of existing Christian artists who are taking their music and their message over to mainstream labels, such as Stacie Orrico and Switchfoot, and the potential for this new movement should be obvious. We will be adding to this list regularly, but these kinds of artists will only be added after very careful consideration. We will also consider adding any Christian/mainstream artists our readers would care to suggest.

The weekly CMCentral Newsletter will (finally!) be making its return shortly as well.

You may notice other enhancements throughout the site as well. For the curious, our weekly publishing schedule is as follows:

  • MONDAY - The Chart, Book Reviews
  • TUESDAY - Album Reviews
  • WEDNESDAY - Interviews or Special Features
  • THURSDAY - Scoops
  • FRIDAY - Indie Reviews, Newsletter
  • DAILY - News

Please take a few minutes to get to know the new CMCentral.com. We hope you like it!
