One of Christian Music's earliest pioneers, Denny Correll, passed away over the weekend. Correll is best remembered for his involvement in the early days of the Jesus Music movement, both as a solo artist andone of the members of Love Song. Correll later was a member of a mainstream group called Blue's Image Band that had a radio hit in the late 60s called "Ride Captain Ride."
Correll died from heart failure at the age of 56, after a stay at Hoag Hospital in Newport. He had just been released from the hospital and was driving himself home, when he drove his car into a school parking lot and stopped there. He was found dead at approximately 12:30AM on November 30. Correll's body has been cremated and his ashes will be spread over the ocean, per his wishes. Correll would have been 57 in February.
